Ford Trucks Poland develops its construction division

Ford Trucks is one of the biggest trucks manufacturers in the world. The range of vehicles offered to customers includes tractor units, distribution vehicles weighing more than 16 tonnes, as well as specialist and construction vehicles. Thanks to Q-Service Truck, further models of Ford trucks are also made available in the authorised sales network in Poland.

Utility, efficiency and comfort

The optimum power for all conditions for the Ford 4142D DC is provided by the proven Ecotorq 12.7-litre engine. The engine is known, among others, from the Ford F-Max, honoured as the 2019 Truck of the Year. In the construction chassis version, it is mated to a 16-speed ZF transmission. Meanwhile, the Z-Cam drum brake system and engine brake, which reaches up to 320 kW, are responsible for efficient and safe braking. Reinforcement of the chassis guarantees a structural strength of 500 MPa.

The Ford driver's comfort is ensured by a number of features available as standard - including air-conditioning, heated seat with air suspension and lumbar support, and independent cab suspension. From a company perspective, use of the vehicle is enhanced by a digital tachograph, a brake lining wear indicator and a switchable air compressor to help save fuel.

Brand-new version of truck body

The first Ford 4142D DC to be officially presented in Poland was fitted with a body from the SLT Group. Its engineers have ensured that this version of the vehicle has excellent characteristics not only for the driver, but for all those who work with it.

The floor and sides of the body are made of Hardox 450 wear-resistant steel. Their shape has made it possible to achieve the high rigidity of the body, so much needed in construction transport. In addition, the side of the body does not retract completely inside, which prevents the aggregate from depositing during unloading. Other features of the body include a side-rolling tarpaulin, ladders for convenient access to the chute and the mould, and adaptation for use with an asphalt distributor.

- The contract to build Poland's first tipper on a Ford 8x4 chassis was an interesting order. The previously unknown chassis forced the introduction of relevant changes to a typical product. Our designers rebuilt the intermediate frame and adapted it to the Ford chassis. The process of redesigning, manufacturing and assembling the body was carried out in line with our philosophy, according to which we have been building bodies for over 30 years: The most important thing is durability, functionality and aesthetic appearance - concluded Maciej Stępka, SLT GROUP's sales manager.

Pick up your vehicle at a Polish dealer

The authorised Ford Trucks dealer network in Poland comprises nine dealerships and one service centre. They offer sales of the brand's vehicles available on the Polish market and a range of after-sales services.

- Since the inauguration of the cooperation between Q-Service Truck and Ford Truck, we have been striving to be more and more accessible to our customers. Therefore, on the one hand, we are developing the dealer and service network, with which we want to appear near Rzeszów, Białystok and Poznań in the coming time. The Ford 4142D DC is officially on sale in Poland from October 2021.
